Two Paderewski Academy of Music students have been named the top violinist and pianist in Illinois. Olivia Stelmach and Łukasz Maciejewski earned Best of Day at the 2026 Solo and Ensemble competition, setting themselves apart at the highest level.
At the Illinois High School Association Solo and Ensemble 2026 competition, Olivia Stelmach, violin, and Łukasz Maciejewski, piano, achieved the highest possible distinction. Both were awarded Best of Day, a recognition given to only the most outstanding performers across the entire event. Among high school musicians throughout Illinois, they were selected as the top violinist and top pianist, setting themselves apart at the highest level of competition.
This level of recognition is not easily earned. It reflects years of focused training, discipline, and a commitment to excellence.
